Machelle Luiters

Machelle has practiced law locally and internationally for over 20 years.

Machelle practices in all aspects of family law and has experience in contested and uncontested divorces and separations (ranging from amicable separations to high conflict), matters pertaining to parenting, child support, division of property and spousal support. Her practice includes child welfare, guardianship, adoptions, agreements (Cohabitation, Prenuptial, Post- Nuptial and Separation) and Emergency Protection Orders. She has extensive experience in the Alberta Court of Justice, the Court of King’s Bench, and in mediation / arbitration.

She approaches all her files from the viewpoint that children and their wellbeing take priority and so always aims to first and foremost find an amicable solution for her clients with the children’s best interests at heart. Being a mother herself, it comes naturally to her to empathize with her clients and help guide them through their trying experiences. She firmly believes that everybody should have a right to legal representation and therefore also avails herself to Legal Aid clients.

When she is taking a break from her work, she prefers to spend her time with her family, hiking, and reading.
